Dance recitals can be nerve-wracking for little girls. But for North Carolina’s Joanna Colon, that’s definitely not the case!
Joanna was part of a trio that walked the stage in a pink and black swimsuit paired with a precious polka dot tutu. Dad filmed and we’re so glad he did! Joanna’s concert program definitely demanded a lot of respect from all the audience.
The crowd couldn’t help laughing, cheering and applauding as the girl beamed on stage. Her flamboyant hand movements, cheeky head nods, finger pointing, and peppy movements made her stand out.
Elissa’s mom said her daughter was constantly rehearsing the routine at home, which gave Elissa the opportunity to tell her daughter about the legendary Aretha Franklin.
It’s even funnier when Joanna starts lip-syncing while dancing. She raises her hands and shakes her head.
Then, as she moves back and forth, clapping, Joanna sinks into the routine.
At the very end, she hits her last pose and the crowd is lost in laughter. She ends up receiving a standing ovation from a crowd of 400 people.
Joanna was six years old when she performed the number, but she had been dancing since she was two. Her devotion is clearly shown in the video below. She’s so fun to watch!
